Did you know? That the cane was banned in 1983 from schools to protect children from violence? Basically you'd be caned for being out of bounds, for swearing, for doing your homework BUT getting less than 5O% for it. How bizarre does that sound? I'm so glad that this device of 'torture' was banned waaaaaaay before i was born - waaaaay before i started school.
APEC week. When is it? I found out that it stands for Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation. Basically it'll be an excuse to not go to work for the people in the City, right? Just so the fancy little restaurants can cater for Mr. Bushy and J. Coward and many other world leaders attending such a crucial summit.
