Although we're only about a week and a bit into 2009, i can already see a significant difference between the "hardcore academic" lifestyle of 2008 and the more upbeat life in the past 11 days of 2009. The past few days gave me a good insight of what i can look forward to this year, and also opened my eyes to what kind of people not to/to associate myself with. Well with 2008 in retrospect, i've got a lot on my mind. Some things worth remembering, and others would be best to be left in a 'memory box' beneath my little bed :).

So to make things easier, i'll just title the following the hits and misses of 2008

lets start off with the misses, usually the things that people use against me with their worst intentions. So here goes!

MISSES
- not living up to the 'i will study harder' regime as promised
- the coming and going of several people whom i thought were here to stay for the long run
- disappointing people that love and truly care for me on several occasions
- failure to comply with standards that other people set for me (this one is complicated)

and to top this post off, ending on a lighter note....

HITS
- completing my final year of high-school with a much better than expected uai/ set of hsc results
- meeting new people, shedding light on a few norms usually frowned upon by the goody-tw-shoes of society
- coming out of my shell, i.e. being able to express myself, this includes standing up for what i believe in
- although its nothing to be proud of, i quite enjoyed the night in hyde park and then mcdonalds and then the alleyways near maccas after joli's combined 18th at the red room :) the adrenaline pumping from being chased while intoxicated was quite an experience

I can't think of that many things at the moment that were extremely significant in 2008. But i guess 2008 wasn't too much of a 'good year' for me with the HSC and the pessimists of life who take making peoples' lives miserable as a sport. All i've got to say is, i'm turning 18 this year :) and we're only young once. So why not make the most of it? Throw out the conservative lifestyle, and in with the party animal agenda!

Oh and one last thing. Don't assume you know me personally just because you read my blog or stalk my facebook. You're not cool like that. Oh and i'm tired of people spreading rumours about me and my way of life, maybe try and mind your own business for a year and see how that goes, no?
