On a more serious note compared to my previous posts, i stumbled upon
this article when i was browsing a forum. I know many people wouldn't be bothered to read the wordy article, so i guess i'll kind of compact everything in a nutshell. Basically, this 18 yr old girl(at the time) in America was returning her books to the after-hours shute at her local library when someone attacked and raped her. The girl suffered numerous strokes from mass strangulation and had lost her vision.
Then it goes on to talk about how her mother had endured so many hardships before she arrived at America. Her mother describes how she paid smugglers in Vietnam to take her to America and how her hope had faded so many times until she saw a spot of land. She correlates that glimmer of hope to that of her daughter's recovery and how she prays that her daughter can make 100% recovery.
I don't know what this world is coming to, but this kind of violence is absolutely horrible. The girl only just graduated and was looking forward to going to College. Her mother's dream was to give her daughter the life she never had, and that had included the education that she could get so she could serve society in future.
Bleh I don't know what i'm writing about now, but all i'm saying is that this makes me realise that my 'troubles' are miniscule compared to this girl. The 16 year old deserves to be locked up for life. Ughhhh it just makes me sick how someone could be so cruel, was it even necessary to beat her up? :(
Anyways, reading that article actually made me cry. The things she did for her mother, the way the volunteers help. Go read :), its one of those life lessons we can learn, the easy way. God bless the girl and her family.
On a lighter note... its 1:57am, and i'm going to catch some shut eye. :) Bonne nuit! xx
