What's worse: ignorance, or apathy?

There are pros and cons to both ignorance and apathy, but then you could say ignorance is a part of apathy, in one way or another. Personally, i think ignorance is worse because its implicative that they know what's going on but just choose not to take note of it. But similarly, with apathy, it primarily applies to people who have gained full knowledge of an issue but choose to turn a blind eye.
When people say ignorance is bliss, there are some truths to it. Ignorant people are generally more selfish and self-absorbed. But there's a minority that are only ignorant because they don't want to get involved. But then, being selfish is usually classified as a negative aspect of one's personality, isn't it? But i've learn that sometimes you've got to be selfish in order to get somewhere in life. We shouldn't really dwindle and place ourselves in one spot in time. Because life is too short. I guess it really depends on how you define ignorance and how you define apathy.
I don't know... I think ignorance and apathy are equally bad. Apathetic people have no compassion, or simply aren't interested. And at that point, i believe that people have the duty to express themselves as 'apathetic' so they can avoid awkward situations where someone's telling them about something that doesn't interest them in the slightest bit.
So i conclude that ignorant people are bad, as are apathetic people. I only feel apathetic towards issues that don't concern me. And that is somewhat selfish, isn't it? Therefore, I guess we can safely conclude that i'm ignorant.
Hahaha damn, that means i just reasoned with myself, as well as 'owned' myself with this debate. Fail. Now i'm rambling :)
