It's hard to believe that it's been a decade since the Summer Olympics was hosted in Australia for the second time. That was back when I was in year 4, if my memory serves me right. It's so crazy... I remember all the hype about Nikki Webster and how she represented the youth and evolution of Australian generations to come, and now we're seeing her on multitudes of men's magazines which would be primarily categorised as gravure paraphernalia.
I remember those little plushie Sydney 2000 mascot toys that came free with your happy meal. And I remember seeing people in their volunteer uniforms from windbreakers to umbrellas and all. How weird... 10 years ago, I was a 9 year old. And now I'm nearing two decades old :( ...
Anyways... now that December has finally arrived, plans for Christmas and the New Year are being processed. Parties and outings and all... this is the
holiday season after all. I really want to go out and have some fun with friends this year. Perhaps not for both occasions... but I want something to actually happen this year, not just sleeping my way into 2012. But I can't always have it my way...
I haven't been to many parties this year, which is a tad bit upsetting for me. Maybe I'm just insecure, or feel that I'm too old. Or that i'm losing touch with my friends who've been there with me all along, through thick and thin. But either way...
I would like to catch up with so many people that I've lost track of where to start..Labels: friendship, life
